SOMA FHS: Grease handling system

The patented FHS grease handling system from SOMA consists of replaceable grease storage canisters, a central loading station and any number of local unloading stations. In addition, the aluminium grease storage canisters are easy to transport. As an economical alternative to dosing devices with their conventional grease supply, it offers a new type of supply concept with numerous logistical and technical advantages so that your dosing devices are supplied with industrial greases and technical lubricants in a clean and economical way and with process reliability.

How the SOMA grease handling system works

How does the SOMA grease handling system and its individual components work?

Central loading station in the grease handling system (FHS-B)

Connected to a drum or container pump, the central grease handling system loading station ensures that the handy and replaceable grease storage canisters are filled automatically.

Mechanical coding on the storage canisters and loading station ensures that storage canisters are not loaded if they are already being used for other greases and have been coded accordingly.

An integrated control system uses level sensors to monitor the automatic loading process in the grease handling system and also forms the interface to higher-level control and management systems.

  • Direct connection to a barrel pump possible
  • Coupling of the FHS storage canisters with pneumatic flat-face couplings to avoid air contamination
  • Supplies the barrel pump with compressed air and relieves the line when no container is being filled
  • Can be coded mechanically to avoid mix-ups

Local unloading station at the workplace (FHS-E)

The unloading stations are an almost identical in design to the loading station and are mounted in the immediate vicinity of the dosing devices, enabling coded grease storage canisters to be replaced quickly and reliably.

  • Clean and quick container replacement thanks to pneumatic flat-face couplings
  • Fill level monitoring with message to the higher-level control at 15 % and 0 %
  • Gentle lubricant supply with system pressure
  • Optional retrofittable pressure booster for high-viscosity greases
  • Can be coded mechanically to avoid mix-ups

Grease storage canisters in the grease handling system (FHS-S)

The aluminium grease storage canisters are easy to transport and are adapted to the compressed air and grease supply by automatic couplings in the loading station or in the unloading stations. A magnetic ring integrated in the piston enables the patented SOMA grease handling system (FHS) to detect the fill level at any time and thus to plan replacement intervals.
